Your Role & Responsibilities:

The Social Media Manager  is responsible for leading and executing the company’s social media strategy. They will be working across key social media channels including Facebook, Twitter Instagram and LinkedIn.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Scheduling and publishing social media posts for Data Natives and Dataconomy Media, with support and oversight from the editorial and marketing teams.
  • The Social Media Manager will inherit a social media strategy devised by the Head of Content; the ideal candidate is also welcomed to bring his or her own ideas to optimise this strategy.
  • The SMM will be expected to coordinate with the Head of Content each week about what needs to be promoted and posted (which stories are being published, what news we have to share, specific marketing KPIs that our social media should contribute towards, etc). From there, the SMM will have ownership over how best to communicate these points to our audience across our social media networks, using vibrant, engaging copy and visuals to communicate with our audience.
  • As well as being responsible for executing the posts, the SMM will also be responsible for engaging our community, replying to tweets, comments etc. in our network, and increasing our followership and brand awareness.
  • Track key social media analytics using Google Analytics

Work hours: 10 hours per week

Starting date: asap

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum one year experience in social media management
  • Education in Marketing and Communications or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Team player and willingness to learn new skills
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You pay attention to details
  • You are able to learn quickly and educate yourself on current work related topics
  • You quickly adapt in a fast paced environment and have a drive for learning
