UX/UI Designer (English) // SmartFrame

January 9, 2018

SmartFrame Technologies develops innovative solutions for displaying, protecting and tracking images. Founded in 2013 as portfolio platform for photographers, now provides digital products and services to blue chip clients around the world. The company is funded by private equity and currently employs about 20 people in London and Krakow. This year we’re looking for exceptional talent to join our new product team based in Berlin.

If you are an exceptional UX/UI designer with passion for innovation, who understands commercial strategy as well as web development process, this is your chance to develop interesting and useful online products in a great environment.

The main and most exciting part of your day will be creating amazing prototypes and interface designs using the industry standard prototyping apps. You should be able to code some basic html/css mock-ups as well. Other duties will include working out and writing product specifications and relaying them to our software developers. You will also be expected to oversee delivery of your concepts, provide feedback and testing, do some research projects and user testing. We’re a fairly small team so you will have a chance to participate in the complete product development cycle and maybe even develop your own ideas.

You should have proactive attitude, take ownership of the project and be happy to work outside of your typical scope of work. You will be expected to strive for perfection and pay attention to details, but without losing the sight of the end goals and targets.

Skills required

* Expert prototyping skills and excellent command of one of the leading software packages (like Invision Studio, Axure, Adobe XD, Marvel)
* Solid understanding of web frontend and ability to code basic layouts (CSS, HTML and JavaScript)
* Understanding of design systems and frameworks (Material Design in particular)
* Good eye for design, composition and symmetry
* Excellent command of written and spoken English absolutely necessary (no German is required)
* Minimum 3 years commercial experience
 (middleweight to senior)

You will be working in a small team in Berlin together with the product owner and co-founder, and another UX designer. We currently work from the Factory in Treptow and remotely. You will be liaising with our development studio in Krakow and the London headquarters, occasional travel may be required. We offer competitive salary and a great workplace to grow, learn and create something new and exciting.

Please provide CV and some examples of projects you worked on.

It’s a full time permanent position (not freelance). Position available immediately for the right candidate. No recruiters please. We don’t sponsor visas or relocation.
