Junior People Operations Manager (German-speaking) // Babbel

We are looking for a German-speaking Junior People Operations Manager (f/m/d) for our Team in Berlin!

As a Junior People Operations Manager, your mission will be to work in partnership with managers and their teams, with individual employees, and with externals to provide services that create a work environment of employee empowerment and involvement in the business.

You will be:

  • Leading the operative side of the employment life cycle – from Onboarding to Offboarding.
  • Ensuring the development of the People Operations Team, providing guidance and consultation, improving systems and driving forward organisation-wide HR projects.
  • Assisting with work permits as well as the relocation process of international employees.
  • Preparation of monthly payroll by providing relevant data and ensuring accurate delivery of payroll, including resolving complaints, questions and discrepancies.
  • Ensuring that HR records, contractual changes and other people related documentation for employees are processed and recorded.
  • Supporting with creation and implementation of HR policies and processes.
  • Supporting and guiding junior level colleagues if needed.

You are:

  • A trustworthy communicator with excellent active listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to express yourself clearly in English and German.
  • Able to prioritise well between tasks to meet deadlines on time.

You have:

  • Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or similar field.
  • 1-2 years working experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Good knowledge of German labor law, particularly in relation to contract agreements and right to work.
  • Strong affinity for numbers and an eye for detail.
  • Very good Business German and English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and  first hands on experience with HRM systems.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in using BambooHR, Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of any additional languages.
