We are Point Nine Capital a Berlin-based investor in early stage startups. In fact, we are the first internet-focused early-stage Venture Capital firm to come out of Berlin and we are kind of a startup ourselves (founded in 2011, counting 7 employees + you).
We’re currently looking for an intern for our Berlin-based investment team: You’re an extremely entrepreneurial thinking person, at least in the 2nd half of your studies, and want to help us discover and support great tech-startups from Europe and North America.
WHAT’S IN FOR YOU
- Responsibility: After a short period of breaking-in, you will take ownership of screening the deal flow. But you won’t be alone, you will be working closely together with the investment team of Point Nine. You will support the team in organizing events or prepare presentations. Together with our investment team you will do research on specific topics and help to prepare the decision making process for new investment opportunities.
- Freedom: We value sense of ownership and empower people to take their own decisions and actions. We expect a lot, but we give a lot. Whilst you are an intern we expect you to spend at least 4 months full-time with us (preferably 6 months), but you can choose when: late night person? Fine. Early morning person? Um, ok.
- Business challenge: You will be able to apply all your business acumen and everything you know already about tech startups to find, analyse and evaluate exciting investment opportunities particularly in the fields of Software-as-a-Service and digital marketplaces.
- Learning experience: For those who are interested in startups and the VC-space, we believe that this is an exciting opportunity to understand how early stage investors think, work and make decisions about startups and investment opportunities – steep learning curve guaranteed!
- Nice office and working environment: We work in a great office at the heart and at the top of Berlin in “Mitte”. It’s a relaxed and international environment where we work hard and have fun. Jeans and T-shirts encouraged, flat hierarchies and fast decision making. Breakfast, amazing coffee/tea, soft drinks, snacks/fruits and PlayStation 4 all included!
- Remuneration: Competitive and appropriate remuneration for this kind of role
- Berlin: Living and enjoying one of the hottest startup-hotspots in world during the best time of the year.
- Working opportunities: We expect this internship to last for 4-6 months but there may well be an opportunity to either start working for one of our portfolio companies, work with a company you get to know about while working with us or get on the fast track to VC and start working with a befriended firm at some point. So, if you are interested in continuing your journey in the startup world, this should be an excellent starting point.
- Contract Type: Regular full-time fixed-term internship contract.
