Hardware Engineer // LabMaker

LabMaker a young Berlin-based maker and assembly service for Open-Source instruments. We are looking for a new full-time team member responsible for prototyping open-source designs and helping us launch them to the market through our company.

What you will do:

  • Transfer the “Bill of Materials” (BOM) for openly available scientific instruments/tools into prototypes
  • Improve the original designs and make them ready for market
  • Identify suitable manufacturing partners, handle communication with them and solve any manufacturing related inquiries
  • Be responsible for any additional assembly tasks (Soldering, Cutting, Gluing, etc)
  • Test the final assembled products and qualify them for delivery
  • Answer any technical customer inquiries related to the products

What you can do or have:

  • A genuine interest in hardware products
  • Preferably you have a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or have finished a relevant vocational technical training
  • You have mastered the use of a CAD Software (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Creo or CATIA)
  • You understand electrical circuit boards, can solder electrical components and/or can work with an Arduino
  • You have experience in rapid prototyping with a 3D-Printer
  • You are a problem-solver and can communicate clearly with business partners
  • You are dynamic, flexible and preferably have experience in working for a start up
  • Proficiency in German and English
