Senior Backend Engineer // DataWallet
What We Do:
Datawallet is on a bold mission to give people full control over their data. We have developed a self-sovereign wallet to organize and securely store an individual’s data. And are now developing hosted datawallets—an enterprise-hosted solution that allows companies to be transparent data custodians and empower their users to control the data they create with them, with the option of downloading and exporting that data to their self-sovereign personal datawallet. The ultimate goal is to provide an ecosystem of tools to empower people to take control of the data they create and disrupt the ethically suspect data brokerage market. With early investments from Tim Draper and Marc Benioff and a talented tech team in Berlin, we have the connections and competences for the endeavor.
We are looking for a full-time back-end engineer. You will be at the core of ensuring that our hosted datawallets provide users with maximal control and transparency, with all directives being recorded on our Cosmos-based blockchain. Our current service-oriented architecture consists of many multi-tenant PostgreSQL-backed Node.js services and numerous Cosmos blockchain clusters.
You should be comfortable jumping into code anywhere in our stack, from setting up and improving our continuous deployment mechanisms and writing .tf files, to writing services (in both Node.js and Go) that will respond to heavy loads of user requests.
What We are Looking For:
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years experience in a backend role
- Node.js and Go
- AWS (ECS, S3, AmazonMQ, RDS, SQS and Lambda are our most used technologies)
- Continuous integration / deployment
- Cosmos SDK (Polkadot experience also welcomed)
- Browser extensions
- Highly competitive wages
- Top-of-the-line equipment: Laptop of choice, custom monitor setup, optional standing desk, etc.
