(Senior) Software Engineer (Python) // close2real

Hey there! Our vision: “We make doctors stronger!” How? Our training platform is called “close2real” because it enables medical doctors to build hands-on competence for real life situations. Doctors practice adaptive training courses and train treatment situations on simulated patients. And we need your help!


  • Design, implement, maintain and improve a modern and product oriented microservice infrastructure
  • Collaborate with coworkers from engineering and product to implement new features, improvements and fixes needed to handle our current and future scale
  • Mentor, grow, and collaborate with other engineers
  • Write great code that is well tested and documented
  • Work on a great product with technical challenges that will help you grow


  • 3+ years experience with Python3
  • Exceptional testing skills, experience with py.test
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining docker as well as running them on a supportive infrastructure
  • Extended Experience with databases, preferably SQL with PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL and Key-Value-Stores
  • Good understanding of Linux and automation via bash scripting
  • Building reliable, robust and observable applications and services
  • Good Knowledge and practical experience in Django and at least one other python based framework, as well as their dependencies
  • Experience working in agile environments that included conducting and receiving code reviews, collaborating with team members and knowledge transfer

Nice to have

  • German speaking (at least basic German skills required)
  • First knowledge and experience with GraphQL
  • Familiarity in message brokers such as Google Pub/Sub or real-time streaming architectures such as Kafka
  • Being a technologist as a hobby
  • Experience in AWS and a good understanding of it’s landscape
