Testing Technician // mitte

It’s an exciting time to join Mitte. As we move closer to our launch date, we are looking for a Testing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support the engineering team in creating a robust water purification system. This role will have a direct impact on core Mitte products by testing the performance of hardware components and mineral cartridges during their development phase. Your work will help to move our understanding of sub-system functionality, component reliability, and mineralization forward.

Responsibilities

  • Building experimental setups (test-rigs) and operating equipment used to assess the performance of hardware components and the mineralization process
  • Making replicas of current functioning rigs during the product development phase. (Test-rigs contain pumps, valves, tubes, tanks, 3D printed parts as well as electronic components that acquire analog and digital data.)
  • Assembling and setting up all necessary rig components, including soldering wires to drive actuators and read sensors controlled via microcontrollers as well as connecting hydraulic components to route the water flow path
  • Assembling of our central distillation unit including the thermal insulation and internal temperature probes
  • Testing functionality of each subsystem and implementing it in the existing test system (e.g. water drain piping as well as IoT network)

Your Profile

  • You have already applied your knowledge regarding engineering on functional prototypes ( linked to hardware)
  • You have a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or similar experience
  • You have basic knowledge regarding pipes, valves, and pumps, circuitry schematics and basic components, and programming (or a willingness to expand skills in this area)
  • You have hands-on experience with experimental setups
  • You truly enjoy problem-solving and coming up with creative solutions to create a reliable system. You bring an analytical approach to identifying failure modes (root-cause analysis) and clear documentation to keep track of the most common failures
  • You are well organized and proactive, working well independently and as part of the team with members from across the organization.
  • You are able to speak and write English fluently.

Pluses

  • Familiarity with Arduino and visual studios IDEs, ex: Application of data analysis and data visualization E.g. using Matlab, Python or basic C/C++,
  • Basic knowledge of heat transfer and mechanical design
  • German knowledge is also a plus
