Head of Marketing – Honeypot Jobs

Honeypot is a developer-focused job platform. Our vision is to build the world’s largest worklife community for technical talent. We are strongly committed to the developer community, creating OSS documentaries, such as GraphQL, Elixir and Ember, and running large scale conferences such as GraphQL Conf.  In March 2019, we were acquired by New Work, who are investing heavily into our growth and expansion.

We are looking for a Head of Marketing Honeypot Jobs to own acquisition, engagement, referral and retention across both B2B and B2C sides of our marketplace. You will report directly to a founder and work closely with our Honeypot Community team who run our community platform (content, events, video). We want to work with someone who is creative, analytical and ready for a challenge.

  • Grow, mentor and lead Honeypot Jobs marketing team, both in central HQ and in our remote offices
  • Develop and own our acquisition strategy across both B2B and B2C user groups
  • Set goals for the performance marketing team and work with Marketing Analytics to track the success
  • Develop our engagement, retention and referral marketing strategies
  • Manage allocation of spend across channels to meet business goals
  • Work with Marketing Ops & Analytics to devise more intelligent, algorithmic and scalable ways of bidding for and deploying spend against user acquisition
  • Develop new paid and performance strategies to grow Honeypot’s audience, using alternative acquisition channels (among other methods)
  • Manage development and A/B of new creatives, creative types and landing pages, in collaboration with Design
  • Work with Product and Engineering to test performance optimization related to landing pages, tracking, and funnel conversion
  • Work closely with the Brand team to amplify video, content and events

We hire for potential

You bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in performance marketing and SEM, Facebook, LinkedIn and ideally for online marketplaces, ecommerce and/or listings sites
  • At least 1 year experience in leading a team with 2 or more direct reports
  • Experience with email marketing
  • An experimental mindset, a passion for creativity and storytelling and strongly analytical outlook
  • Interest in people
  • Enjoy digging in and getting your hands dirty to take things to the next level
  • Proficiency in English (Dutch or German is a plus)
