Scrum Master (f/m/x)

As a scrum master in Fraugster, you will be driving 2 R&D teams to become strong self-managed scrum teams, with high performance, good working relations to other teams and high personal involvement of individuals. You will propel agile and scrum principles and values in the teams and outside of them. You will coach and mentor the team and individuals towards continual improvement. You will Facilitate scrum ceremonies and cross team retrospective meetings. You support conflict resolution with clear articulation and effective facilitation. You will hold a kind and honest mirror to the teams and its leaders, to help improve over time.

The teams – the scrum master would be involved in 2 separate scrum teams, both teams have the same product owner and people manager. 1 team is a dev-ops team, and the second is a cross-functional data R&D team. Both teams are developing products while supporting various other internal teams. Both teams are currently 4-6 people each and are expected to keep growing. The team members have varied amounts of experience in tech, agile, and time in the company.

Agile in Fraugster – the company is 6 years old and applies agile behavior in many aspects. The company has a senior agile coach consulting and coaching for the last 3 years. Engineering teams are working in 2-week sprints for several years now, however scrum principles and culture are only partially implemented. The scrum master will be the first full-time employee dedicated to Fraugster’s agility firstly focused on the teams, and gradually focusing on other parts of the company.

Job requirements:

  • A people’s person
    • You have strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills. Creating trust is your highest priority
    • You are not afraid to deal with conflicts and you have experience in solving conflicts efficiently
    • You don’t shy away from uncomfortable topics that need to be discussed and you take initiative towards their resolution
  • Previous experience as Scrum Master/Agile Coach in teams that do more than “just” software development
    • You have experience and confidence in Scrum, Kanban and agile methodologies
    • You know of lean and agile principles and have experience using them to help teams succeed and organizations to evolve
    • You previously promoted team self-organization, knowing when to challenge and when to teach
    • You believe that agile is the vehicle to create a great work environment and great products
    • You are comfortable in a remote work and collaboration setting
    • You are fluent with agile tools

    • You have a high level of personal responsibility and self-organization
    • You draw your motivation from the success of the team and the growth of the individual team members
    • You are a self-starter with a structured approach, and a can-do, pragmatic, solution-oriented attitude

  • Tech savvy – you have a good understanding of software development and technology
  • Fluency in english
