Senior Software Engineer

Veta Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to extend and improve our applications used by patients and clinicians globally.

Veta Health ( extends personalized clinical care and patient support to the home, allowing patients to be monitored beyond the four walls of a clinical setting. Our digital solutions create connected and transparent healthcare experiences that lead to improved long-term health outcomes. We leverage patient-generated and clinical data sources to drive personalized medicine and ensure that patients are successful in managing their health.


  • Develop, test and maintain medical applications mostly written in Typescript and Kotlin.
  • Design secure and scalable software architectures as part of our engineering team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, product managers and other engineers to build powerful and user-friendly solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze our production applications to ensure a high availability and performance.
  • Develop various API integrations to increase automation with our partners and clients.

Skills & Qualifications

  • You have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a software engineer, ideally in the digital health space.
  • You are skilled to build backend applications in Typescript/NodeJS and Kotlin/JVM.
  • You also have experience in web development, ideally with React or ReactNative.
  • Ideally you have already worked on software under medical regulation (e.g. HIPAA, FDA, MDR).
  • You write simple, expressive and extensible code.
  • You are fluent in English, spoken and written. German is a plus.
  • You thrive when working in a team. You are happy to pair, learn, teach, share, communicate and document things every day.
  • We work in a remote-first environment but meet regularly in person for workshops, whiteboard sessions or just socialising. You are willing to work remotely most of the time but live in or around Berlin to regularly meet with the engineering team.
