Senior Finance Manager (f/m/x)

We are looking for a motivated team player to join our Berlin team as “Senior Finance Manager” to make significant contributions to the Finance team’s efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Your expertise in billing, international tax, team management, and process improvement will play a vital role in supporting the company’s goals and overall success.

What will you do:

• Ownership of the Billing Process: You will take ownership of the company’s billing process, including international tax aspects. This involves managing billing requests from clients across different regions, dealing with withholding tax requirements, and discussing payment arrangements to ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
• Team Management: You will manage and mentor one team member responsible for billing. This includes providing guidance, reviewing their work, and assisting with more complex billing issues. You will ensure that the team member is well-equipped to handle their responsibilities effectively.
• Invoice Collection Process: You will review the invoice collection process and offer guidance on more sensitive overdue cases. Your expertise will be crucial in resolving outstanding invoices, minimizing bad debts, and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
• Educating Non-Finance Colleagues: You will educate non-finance colleagues about the company’s billing processes. This includes conducting training sessions for new joiners from different business teams, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the billing sheet, invoice process/requirements, and the importance of timely follow-up on overdue invoices.
• Process Improvement: You will continuously evaluate and improve the billing processes to keep pace with the company’s development. You will proactively identify areas for enhancement, implement efficiency measures, and streamline workflows to optimize the billing function’s effectiveness.
• Monthly Financials and Performance Bonuses: You will be responsible for preparing provisions for the monthly financials, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Additionally, you will gather and compute data for the company’s quarterly performance bonuses, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to determine appropriate bonus structures.
• Expense Review: You will perform the second review of expenses and supporting documents from the corporate card and spend management solution. This entails verifying compliance with company policies, analyzing expense patterns, and providing insights to improve expense management practices.

Location: 

• This role is located at our Headquarters in Berlin, Germany.
• Our work-location scheme includes 2 days at the office and 3 days working from home.
• This role does not offer new Visa / Work Permit sponsoring

Job requirement

Ideally, you bring: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Finance Manager or a role with similar relevancy in the finances and/or accounting fields.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and international tax requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and invoice processing.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to educate non-finance colleagues and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, think out of the box and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Professionalism based on actionable metrics and strong work ethics.
• Professional fluency in English and German languages is a must.
