About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy technology marketing-and-sales team and to share (and grow) your knowledge of performance marketing – primarily in search, display ads, and paid social media – and your strong understanding of on-page and technical SEO concepts.  Besides taking ownership of the above, we also hope to benefit from your insights across the whole range of marketing that we do. We value ideas and execution, and of those, execution rules!

The daily task list will vary a lot, but is certain to include most or all of the following:

  • Creating, managing, and executing search, display (Google AdWords, Bing), paid social media (Facebook, LinkedIn) campaigns, and 3rd party media placements
  • Carrying out operational responsibilities like A/B testing, ad copywriting and testing, bid management, budget management, conversion tracking, and creative testing
  • Analyzing the results of your efforts and making data-driven adjustments to support our user acquisition strategy in the most optimal and cost-efficient way
  • Familiarizing yourself with the NoSQL database market to identify trends and opportunities (e.g. new keywords, content gaps, competitor messaging)
  • Understanding the customer journey from download to purchase and beyond and identifying ways to optimize conversion rates across the funnel
  • Working closely with the rest of the Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Development teams on other projects as needed
  • Experimenting with new tools, platforms, and channels as needed

What you bring to the role:

If you can demonstrate the following during an interview, we’d love to meet you:

  • At least two years of experience in Performance Marketing/SEM/SEA
  • A power user of Google AdWords, Google Analytics, and Facebook – experience with other tools and platforms also welcome, ideally in a single-client setting
  • A strong understanding of on-page and technical SEO and how performance marketing efforts can complement our visibility and authority on search engines
  • You have creative and persuasive copywriting chops
  • You are hands-on and highly ROI-focused, paying attention not only to your area of expertise but also to the bigger picture
  • Curiosity, tenacity, ideas, relentless attention to detail, and making things as simple and clear as possible
  • A fascination with technology, ideally with data technology and database systems
  • You love learning new technologies, staying on top of marketing trends, and sharing that knowledge as you acquire it
  • Native level English
  • A natural inclination to muck in and help out, especially when someone else on the team is either away or needs another pair of hands / eyeballs
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and come up with workarounds
