Business Development & Operations Intern

About the role

Join our dynamic team in this unique Business Development & Operations role, where you’ll play a crucial part in generating and nurturing our sales pipeline. Working closely with our interdisciplinary team, you will identify and connect with potential high-profile clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological sectors, arranging initial meetings. Your enthusiasm for process automation coupled with your strong communication skills and persuasive character will help us expand our customer base.

In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to support our internal operations as needed. This role offers a chance to gain insight into different areas of our business, allowing you to apply your skills where they are most impactful.

We are looking for a candidate who can start immediately for a total period of 6 months, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position in one of these areas. This role provides a unique opportunity to shape your career path and contribute significantly to our business and growth.

What you will do

  • Support with reinventing and defining our market outreach strategy
  • Find relevant companies and stakeholders for our outreach
  • Reach out to new potential customers via LinkedIn and possibly other channels
  • Ensure adequate use of our tools throughout the pipeline sales cycle
  • Improve and automate the outreach process
  • Take over some internal topics where we need ad-hoc hands-on support

You should apply if

  • You are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a business-related field
  • You are fluent in English (verbal and written) and communicate in a constructive and proactive manner
  • You are proficient in using technology and learn to master new tools quickly
  • You are curious to apply your broad set of skills and have a good sense of customer orientation
  • You are a self-motivated and structured team player with innovative ideas
  • You have genuine interest in working with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment and a young start-up

Bonus points if

  • You have prior exposure to Sales or Sales Development
  • You are proficient in using HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Surfe, Cognism or Neverbounce
  • You have prior scientific exposure (academic or professional) to pharma, (bio-)chemistry or related fields
  • You have analytical thinking and intrinsic sense of ownership
  • You love improving/automating processes or implementing new processes from scratch

Logistics
Our interview process is split into two phases:

  1. Initial Screening: If your application matches our requirements, we invite you to an initial video call to explore the fit. In this 30-45 minutes interview, you will get to know us and the role. The interviewer will be interested in your relevant experiences and skills, as well as answer any question on the company and the role itself that you may have.
  2. Deep Dive & Final Interview: In this more detailed 1-hour interview, one or more domain experts from our team will assess your skills and knowledge required for the role by asking you about relevant experiences or your solutions for specific scenarios in line with the role we are staffing. Additionally, we’ll talk about our culture and assess the mutual fit.
